Smaller items can be placed in a black-lid curbside waste cart. Large appliances can be taken to River City Recycling & Transfer Station, 6404 South 60th Street (60th & Harrison Streets). There may be a fee for processing certain items. Call (402) 731-0414 or find more information at this link:

Where Else Could It Go?

Many local scrap or metal recycling facilities will accept appliances (also called "white goods.") Look up a scrap metal facility near you to find out what items they accept. Fees may apply.

Tip: Always call ahead to confirm if your item can be accepted.

During the Omaha Spring & Fall Cleanup events, neighborhood drop-off sites for bulky items will be available to Omaha residents at no cost. For details and future cleanup dates, visit:

Ways to Reduce or Reuse

If your appliance is clean and in good working condition, consider donating it to a local charity, such as the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. Most items are accepted if fully functional, clean, and if all hardware is included. Call ahead to confirm if your item can be accepted.
