- Take intact Compact Fluorescent Bulbs (CFLs) to the City's special waste facility, UnderTheSink, or an alternative location listed below
- If your CFL is broken, it can be placed in the garbage

Lowe's Home Improvement and The Home Depot accept CFL bulbs at special, in-store collection receptacles.
Motherboard offers a residential pickup service for CFL and Fluorescent bulbs. Fees may apply.

CFLs and other Fluorescent Bulbs contain mercury, which is considered a household hazardous waste and should be handled with caution. The Environmental Protection Agency offers recommendations for how to safely clean up broken CFL or other mercury-containing bulbs.
