Omaha Recycling Guide
Magazines & Catalogs
Accepted in City of Omaha Recycling
Place paper items like magazines, sales catalogs, or newspapers in a curbside recycling cart or drop-off site container.
- Printed, glossy covers are accepted if they are soft-bound and uncoated (discard hard covers or coated paper with a waxy feel)
- DO NOT include paper with metallic or glitter embellishments
- Discard any non-paper contents, such as plastic overwrap, free cologne samples, or foil-embossed insert pages
- Keep items loose and DO NOT bag
Where Else Could It Go?
Consider donating your old magazines to a healthcare clinic or dentist's office. Be sure to call first and find out if the office can use the quantity and type of reading material that you have.
Ways to Reduce or Reuse
Switch to digital! Many magazines offer digital-based subscriptions, so you can enjoy the same content online, without all the paper or shipping involved.
Save old magazines and catalogs for arts & craft projects such as paper collages.
