DO NOT place this item in a City of Omaha curbside recycling cart or drop-off site container.
Used oil filters can be placed in the garbage. They can also be taken to the City's special waste facility, UnderTheSink.
UnderTheSink accepts unwanted chemicals and special waste from households in Douglas and Sarpy Counties. A list of acceptable items and more information can be found here:

Where Else Could It Go?
Some local automotive shops will accept items like leftover oil or oil filters, antifreeze, car batteries, and/or tires for proper disposal. Ask your local auto parts retailer or service station if they participate in a recycling or take-back program.
Tip: Always call ahead to confirm whether your item can be accepted.
