Omaha Recycling Guide
Paperboard Boxes
Accepted in City of Omaha Recycling
Place empty paperboard boxes like cereal, cracker, or detergent boxes in a curbside recycling cart or drop-off site container.
- Break apart and flatten boxes
- Labels and tape can stay on
- Printed, glossy paperboard is ok
- Discard any non-paper contents, including: leftover food, foam or plastic inserts, and metal pour spouts or strips
- Only clean and dry cardboard - if wet or soiled, discard in garbage
- Keep items loose and DO NOT bag
Tip: If the paper box is smaller than 3," place it inside a larger paper envelope that you plan to recycle.
