Did You Know
Silicone is an industrial polymer made from silicon (sand) and oil or natural gas. Silicone and silicone rubber are known to be flexible, durable, and heat-resistant. When made into household products, silicone items may last longer than plastic materials without leaching harsh chemicals. However, silicone is not easily recycled through traditional methods. Also, silicone does NOT biodegrade and is NOT compostable. It is best to place a worn-out silicone product in the garbage if it cannot be reused or donated.
